REVIEW: Coconut Almond Butter Clif Bar

Trying something a little new today with a food review! I’ve wanted to try this product for a long time, and figured it would be an excellent pre run snack. Let’s dive in and see what Clif Bars new line of products are like.

My initial impression was that this thing is puny. I wondered where the 230 calories came from, guess it’s from the filling?

Unwrapping the bar, I got a faint hint of coconut smell. It was sweet, and reminiscent of the usual Clif Bars.

Breaking apart the bar, I expected the filling to be more liquidy, but that wasn’t the case. The filling held it’s form together quite well, and honestly with it’s color, I almost thought it was one solid bar without filling.

The crust was also amazing (closet coconut addict), and reminded me a good deal of the Coconut Chocolate Chip Clif Bar. It was rather dense as a shell, but I found myself wanting more of it. Together, the bar was very indulgent, with the coconut flavor being a bit more pronounced, and the filling taking a bit of a backseat.

As a whole, I really enjoyed this bar. I would have liked to see maybe a larger product with less filling, but would certainly recommend it as it is now. It also gave me a good kick of energy before my run.

I was not paid for this review. I got the product myself, and these thoughts are my own.

ENCORE

So I have a thing for oatmeal. I love it. I eat at least 2 bowls a day, and couldn’t pass up a chance to mix it up a little bit. Sacrilege? Possibly, but I don’t regret any of this. Needed to make sure I was fueled up for my run…
